John Galliano gets fired by the Christian Dior House

Fashion guru John Galliano just got fired from the Christian Dior house as he recently declared " I LOVE HITLER!"

Fashion designer John Galliano arrives at the police station on Monday to face his accusations

The world of fashion has just received  this troubling news as John Galliano is  one of the greatest fashion visionaries and designers of all time. The British fashion designer has been the head designer of Christian Dior from 1997 to March 1 2011 when he just got dismissed after a video showing him making antisemitic remarks appeared everywhere.

On February 2011, the House of Dior announced that it has suspended Galliano following his arrest
over an alleged anti-semitic assault that occured in a Paris bar.  A few days later, The Sun newspaper posted a video on their website showing John Galliano in another incident at the same bar, stating anti-semitic insults at a group of italian women saying " I love Hitler...People like you would be dead. Your mothers, your forefathers would all be f----- gassed". The incident happened days before Paris Fashion Week for fall 2011-2012. The house of Dior is scheduled to present its new collection this coming Friday.

Dior has came under pressure after Oscar- winning actress Natalie Portman, Jewish Israeli, one of the company's spokesmodels, said in a statement she " will not be associated with Mr. Galliano in any way".

Jessica Michault, fashion critic for the International Herald Tribune newspaper, said Galliano has " a long hard road in front of him" if he is ever to rebound.

Marcellous Jones who is the editor-in-chief of thefashioninsider.com said he was "really surprised that Dior actually had the conviction to fire John Galliano because he makes them a lot of money".

John Galliano is one our favorite designers and definitely one of the most influential designers of our time. He has succeeded in creating the most spectacular fashion shows of our time.

John quoted as identifying his love of theatre and femininity as central to his creations

It is unfortunate that such a talented and historical designer such as John Galliano may have fallen down from his glory in such disgrace and cruelty. The world of fashion may never be the same!

What are your thoughts on this? Do you think Dior did the right thing?

  2. What a shame for him! This is a reminder that as a person on top one must always maintain composure, you never know who may be watching, listening. One drunken night and a few racial slurs have ruined this man. He may not recover from this one...

  4. The comment about speaking about maintaining composure couldn't be more right on! How sad this whole incident is! Also, how sad that someone would say that drunk or not.. that is just beyond terrible.
