Alexander Wang To Design Affordable Capsule Collection for H&M

Alexander Wang To Design Affordable Capsule Collection for H&M

At midnight on Sunday April 14th , Alexander Wang made his very first post to the brand's official Instagram account, and it was a colossal announcement — one that is about to raise the bar way, way up on designer collaborations.

Alexander Wang  X  H&M

Fashion retailer H&M announced its next, highly-anticipated collaboration with fashion designer Alexander Wang. “We’ve always liked Alexander’s designs,” Margareta van den Bosch, H&M’s creative advisor, said. “He’s very contemporary. It’s very young, but it’s also things that can be worn by any age because of his influences in tailoring and sport. He’s very much today.” Wang is the youngest designer to join the store's capsule collection roster, which has previously included Karl Lagerfeld, Versace, Lanvin, and Isabel Marant. The collection will be available November 6.

Alexander Wang Spring 2014 Campaign

Wang's latest logo mania is a perfect fit for the sporty-chic vibes already sweeping H&M and other big-name retailers like Topshop and Zara. Though the collection won't drop until November 6 it's a fair guess to say the range will be a combination of that trend and the beloved basics that made Wang famous in the first place.

Alexander Wang says in a statement to the press, “I am honored to be a part of H&M’s designer collaborations. The work with their team is an exciting, fun process. They are very open to push boundaries and to set a platform for creativity. This will be a great way for a wider audience to experience elements of the Alexander Wang brand and lifestyle.”

Alexander Wang Spring 2014 Collection

The Alexander Wang x H&M collection will feature apparel and accessories for women and men, and the full collection will be available in 250 H&M stores worldwide and online starting November 6, 2014.
