SACHIKA on stage of PERFORMA'S "NEW YORK NEW YORK" PLAY BY CANDICE BREITZ

To-Nya & To-Tam Ton-Nu of SACHIKA

DOUBLE THE PLEASURE, DOUBLE THE FUN!

We are putting away our sewing machines and threads for this Thursday and Friday night and are hitting the stage in “New York, New York” IMPROV show! The Abron Arts Center is presenting “New York, New York” which is the company’s first time ever featuring an ALL TWIN CAST for an improvised LIVE performance. No prepared lines or rehearsal, everything is based on instant reaction, which is great because we love to live in the MOMENT!

It’s definitely going to be interesting (and even a little nerve-racking!!) considering it’ll be our first time doing IMPROV, but we believe that we can rock it out! We love to challenge ourselves so when we were offered an opportunity to participate in this unique production we were all for it! We’ve been developing our character whose name is “SACHIKA BELINA KATSU"- a French and Japanese mixed quite interesting woman(lol) and can’t wait to see how each other interprets her once we get on the big stage! This event is extra special to us because it will give people a chance to see twins as a whole, but also how we think individually. So Come Join Us and We Promise You’ll Be Seeing Double All Night!

Plot Description for Performa 09:
Candice Breitz: New York, New York
Video and installation artist Candice Breitz presents 'New York, New York,' her first-ever live performance, which features two nearly-identical casts composed of four pairs of identical twins - with each pair of twins split into two groups of four actors each - presenting two evenings of improvised performance. The performances will be based on intensive "character development sessions" that Breitz will hold with each pair of twins to develop a single character that both will play, although in separate casts and improvisations. — EventSource
