SPEED STYLING: A new concept for the MODERN WOMAN BY SACHIKA!!!

So we came up with a new concept called SPEED STYLING...
Women are sooooo busy here in NY, always on the go yet they still want to look their best in a city where most women are single...

The Speed Styling event by SACHIKA took place at Avitto Shoe Store located at 424 West Broadway. The place was packed and crowded on Sunday May 31st 2009.Photo by Cass

Even the friendly staff at Avitto was having a blast!

So what is SPEED STYLING?

We turned speed dating into something event better: SPEED STYLING.
Women get the opportunity to come to a venue where fashion and beauty experts such as fashion stylists, hair stylists, makeup artists, handbag and accessory stylists and shoe specialist come together to give each woman a speedy approx 5 min personalized tip session based on their body type, face structure, lifestyle, fashion needs etc. Each woman left with a SPEED STYLING result card which states which items/styles are best suited for her. As a bonus, we also added some discounts from each vendor if they decide to purchase products/services. The best part? This new and innovative concept was complimentary as the speed styling, cocktails, hors-d'oeuvres, music, discounts, all was FREE!

So we threw our first SACHIKA speed styling event on Sunday May 31st 2009 at the shoe store AVITTTO located at 424 West Broadway and Spring in Soho. They carry shoes for men and women and they are fabulous!!! All Italian shoes, top quality. Just for the event, the owner Avi offered an additional 20% discount on all merchandise. WOW!
For the makeup we had PAMELA TAYLOR MAKEUP ACADEMY. She did a wonderful job and many many ladies were lining up to get a speed complimentary makeover...she offered 20% discount as well for her services to the ladies who attended for their next visit.

For hair, we had the dynamic duo at MINT THE SALON who came to give their precious advice to women based on their face structure, hair type, hairstyle and cut an color for summer/spring 2009. The ladies gave a $50 rebate on their services...These women will give you the perfect haircut and color for YOUR FACE! WOW!

We had the pleasure to work for the first time with a lovely trio of gorgeous women: B & B and Blush Boutique. From left to right: Alisa, Wanda and Alicia are Interior Designers by trade whose passion for style led them to host handbag and accessory events selling amazing imported Italian handbags, accessories ( wallets, belts) and gorgeous jewelry. At they event, they offered $50 off all their handbags...Their handbags are pure bliss!!!Stay tuned as they are launching their online boutique very soon!

And of course, all women had the opportunity to touch, feel, try on and purchase our dresses as they can usually be purchased online at http://www.sachika.com only. We loved it, there were women everywhere walking around looking stunning in SACHIKA dresses. It was truly fun to have a direct contact with our clients...and to be able to give them fashion tips according to their needs. The event was a HUGE SUCCESS. It was was PACKED!!! Aj Calloway came to the event to grace the Red Carpet and conduct some interviews (he was being interviewed and not interviewing for once)...

Over 250 people came in a store that can hold 30-40 people...Lots of single ladies...lol...

DJ FLYY Grl was able to set the ambiance with some great House music and of course, we had some Sangria and hors d'oeuvres for the guests...

A well rounded event of fashion, style, music, networking and...who knows...new and great friendships!?!...It's definitely better than SPEED DATING because ladies, if you look great and feel great, you will inevitably attract men and not any man, the good ones!!!...LOL...it's the LAW of ATTRACTION....For our next speed styling, we are choosing a 3000 sft loft to throw it there...yes, always, BIGGER AND BETTER...lol

Special thanks to:
Aj Calloway, Avi from Avitto shoe Store, Anthony Austin from En La Escena TV, Cyril Mahe ( SACHIKA executive producer), Richard Delima ( SACHIKA Managing director), Miles Spencer ( SACHIKA mentor), Teaira Brewer ( SACHIKA personal assistant), Pamela Taylor Academy, Mint The Salon, B&B accessories and hangbags, DJ Flyy Grl, all our photographers ( love you guys for always coming to all the SACHIKA events, YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!), all our dear friends, our family, ALL THE SACHIKA fans and following, SACHIKA attendees for making this event successful and of course BUDDHA for showing us the road to our dreams!

VIVA SACHIKA!

Sweet and Salty love...

We both fell in love today...

They say love happens when you least expect it...Well, it seems pretty true as it happened for the very first time to the both of us...TODAY.

We had just left this wonderful Italian shoe store called OTTIVA on Spring street in Soho, after we chose 15 amazing pair of shoes/boots for our fashion show on Friday. We were both starving but we had both decided to "master clean" our body for the next couple of days. Not that we want to lose weight, far from it, but because we both felt like we had indulged ourselves while were were in Cali last week and wanted to feel "healthier". On our way back to the train, as my stomach screamed, my eyes laid down on a gorgeous purple and white front store which instantly called my name. I looked closely inside and saw boxes which appeared to be boxes of TRUFFLES with some orange sparkles with such different beautiful textures. I looked closely behind the glass and saw a few European men drinking what appeared to be shotglasses of melted hot chocolate... My heart began to race and before I even knew it, a supreme force took over me and I found myself inside...Temptation...what a sin...From that moment on, I can barely remember what happened to me. As my pupils got wider while I looked at those beautiful curvy and luscious balls of pleasure, I was taken by a force larger than life: I had completely let go of my weekly goal of "fasting" and even worse, my hands by now had grabbed the "Mo's Bacon Bar" a 45% chocolate bar with applewood smoked bacon, alderwood smoked salt!!! I have made the solemn decision not to eat meat anymore and all of a sudden, I was struck by amnesia!!!...ahhhhh....I chose chocolate with BACON!!...I just couldn't resist it, the thought of crispy, sweet and salty...ahhhhhh.....my love affair with this deadly combination started long time ago, from my early childhood as my parents made me try pineapple, mango and apple with salt/hot peppers. Later on, I had always loved the combination of bacon with maple syrup...Finally, someone understood me... My obsession for healthy lifestyle quickly unraveled into an obsession for instant gratification...I just had to feel it in my mouth!

I did enjoy my train ride...

" Snap off just a tiny piece and place it in your mouth, let the lust of salt and sweet coat your tongue"...

Thank you Katrina.
I Love you.

What about you? What is your obsession? Any other deadly combination?
