There’s talk about a new addition to the astrological calendar, according to a group of astronomers at the Minnesota Planetarium Society.Over the past 2000 years there has been a shift in the stars leading them to believe that the signs have shifted, too. The additional sign is called Ophiuchus and covers the dates Nov. 29th- Dec.17th  "Ophiuchus" means "serpent-bearer" in Greek. There are several different characters from Greek mythology that Ophiuchus is thought to represent, including Asclepius the healer, Trojan priest Laocoon, who was killed by sea serpents, and Phorbas, who saved the people of Rhodes from an infestation of serpents. 

If you are a Sagittarius or Capricorn, you are probably really upset about this, it affects your signs the most, but practically the dates for all the signs automatically shift as well. We don't think anyone is happy about this. Here are the new dates  of the latest astrological calendar:

Capricorn: Jan. 29th- Feb. 16th 

The sign of Capricorn is a feminine sign and seeks to be a useful and effective woman or man. Capricorn values self-sufficiency society, traditions and responsibility. They are money-motivated and seek status, position and authority. Success is assured for them through their hard work and discipline. A Capricorn man or woman will pursue whatever they believe is important, but must be cautious not to take a great fall while climbing their mountains.

Aquarius: Feb. 16th- Mar. 11th 

Aquarians have great desire for material gain, but are not greedy. They are tireless workers and are willing to work for what they want, and do not demand more than their fair share. They read character instinctively, and for this reason they "see through" people too easily to be really happy. They are good thinkers, and are very successful when it comes to debate and argument, and difficult to convince.

Pisces: Mar.11-Apr. 18th

The majority of Pisces people are kind and gullible. Pisces are adventurous, ambitious, impulsive, enthusiastic and full of energy. The Pisces are pioneers both in thought and action, very open to new ideas and a lover of freedom. These people possess a curiously natural understanding, which they do not obtain from books or study. They easily acquire, or rather absorb, knowledge, especially of the history of countries, travel, research, and like subject. 

Aries: Apr. 18- May. 13th 

Aries have unusually strong will power and great obstinacy of purpose. They are usually born to be fighters in every sense of the world: they have also the greatest ability as organizers on a large scale. They find themselves as the organizers of big schemes or as the heads of big businesses, and also in the organization and development of countries. 

They seem naturally to resent all criticism, and the only way to offset this in them is by quiet logic, reason, and proof. 

Taurus: May 13th- Jun 21st 

Taurus is the sign of practicality and possessions. People born under the sign of Taurus tend to be very patient, practical and dedicated people. Such people are usually very cautious when dealing with people, life and money. They have a curious power of dominating others, even when not conscious of trying to do so. People who were born in that time are extremely faithful, with a strong need for security and a settled routine. Although they are very earthy, they can also be highly romantic and sensitive when it comes to love. 

Gemini: Jun 20th- Jul 21st

The people who were born in this period are widely known for their dual personalities and ability to change mood from moment to moment. Although they hate to be tied down, they make lively, entertaining and romantic partners, even if they can be rather fickle if bored or unhappy. Of all people they are the most difficult to understand; in temperament they are hot and cold almost at the same moment. Cancer: Jul. 20th- Aug. 10th

Once they overcome their touchiness and master their turbulent emotions, their intellect and imagination enable them to become a success in almost anything they undertake. 

Leo: Aug. 10th- Sept.16th

The Fire sign in these people is enthusiastic, energetic, and optimistic. Representatives of signs are happy, lucky people. Fixed people are stable. They don't like much change. Status quo suits them fine. They will stick to things and get them done.

Libra: Oct. 30th -Nov. 23rd

These people are rarely lazy. They work hard, and also demand that their partners work just as hard. They have a strong sense of justice and fair play. It is pretty unusual for them to express anger, but when they do it is usually a storm. They are extremely positive and decisive in all their thoughts and actions. They have great foresight and intuition, and are generally seen at their best when acting on first impressions. The fear is usually well controlled so the typical representatives of this sign usually looks calm, collected, and in charge of the situation. Good natured and loving, they enjoy talking to people, yet can also be very attentive listeners. 

Scorpio: Nov. 23rd - Nov. 29th

People born in this section of the year seem to be filled with inherent contradiction. The best and the worst seem to make this period their chosen battlefield. Up to nearly twenty years of age they are usually extremely pore-minded, virtuous, and religious, but once their nature is roused they are often found to swing in the opposite direction. They are the searchers of the zodiac and have an insatiable desire for knowledge on every level. From spiritual and intellectual revelations, these people want the edge on everybody else. 

Ophiuchus: Nov. 29th- Dec. 17th

This new sign represents the healing of man. People who now fall into this new category are often envied and seek peace and wisdom. They seem to have good luck and can be easily misunderstood at times. In the work place they are at the top of the leader board and are hold high positions in life. They are interpreter of dreams and premonitions. The number 12 is of great significance to them. These people are very close to their families but tend to leave the house at a young age. They are said to favor bright clothing and more specifically wear plaid a lot.

Sagittarius: Dec. 17th- Jan. 20th

This is the sign of the philosopher and the explorer. They have an appetite for learning and travel. Such people prefer to be footloose and fancy free, however should they become involved in a relationship they make it as enjoyable and as much fun as possible. Normally they are very gregarious, but they will be glad to find the time for that special relationship. They concentrate all their attention on whatever they are doing at the moment, and seem to see no other way but theirs until their effort is made. They are often the great workers; such people never seem to tire until they drop with fatigue. They would rather learn on their own, through travel and experience, than endure structured classroom environments and routine work assignments. 

These people are usually successful in business, but never feel themselves confined to any one line. They follow the rule if they have been successful in some one thing there is no reason whatever that they must follow it through life. 

You're probably wondering if this mean now that your personality changes and now your whole life goals are shattered. This new calender changes everything, right? No, not at all! If you are really going to believe in this "new" sign, it only applies starting 2012.
